Mainsails

Mainsail The mainsail is the workhorse of every boat. We build custom mainsails in four panel constructions — crosscut, radial, foot-oriented and hybrid — each CAD-designed and laser-cut for a shape that sets well and lasts. Request a Free Quote → Crosscut Mainsail Crosscut is the proven cruising standard: panels sewn parallel to the foot, simple strong seams and the best cloth utilisation. A standard crosscut mainsail from us is affordable, easy to repair anywhere, and built from premium Dacron. Request a Free Quote → Radial Cut Mainsail A standard radial cut mainsail places cloth where the loads actually travel: panels radiate from the head, tack and clew so threads carry force along their strongest axis. The result is a mainsail that keeps its designed shape season after season. Request a Free Quote → In-Mast Furling Mainsail An in-mast furling mainsail lives inside the mast: the luff needs the correct furling tape or rope, the cut must be flatter to roll cleanly, and batten layout must suit vertical battens. We build both crosscut and radial cut mainsails in-mast furling specification, matched to your furler model. Request a Free Quote → In-Boom Furling Mainsail In-boom furling rolls the sail down into the boom: the foot takes concentrated load, the sail needs a reinforced foot shelf and luff tape sized to the mandrel. We build crosscut and radial cut mainsails in-boom furling specification — easier to service than in-mast systems, with better shape retention. Request a Free Quote → Trysail The trysail replaces the mainsail in storm conditions, set on its own track above the boom. Built from heavyweight radial-cut cloth with reinforced corners, it is the sail you hope never to use — and must not fail when you do. Request a Free Quote →
